France Télévisions presented its back-to-school programs on Wednesday July 6. New shows, returning hosts, new dramas… Here are the new features announced for September on the public service channels.
Two months before the start of the school year, and before the viewers’ holidays, France Télévisions presented its 2022-2023 start of the school year during a press conference in Paris on Wednesday July 6. Several novelties had leaked in the press for a few days.
Michel Drucker on France 3
Michel Drucker will have to move his famous red sofa. “Vivement dimanche” will go from France 2 to France 3, on Sunday afternoon at the start of the school year. A new challenge at almost 80 years old for the famous animator. By changing the channel, “Vivement dimanche” will be broadcast earlier between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. “France 3 is part of my DNA. For me, it’s going to a channel that looks like me,” said Michel Drucker in May.
Frédéric Lopez on Sunday afternoon
To replace Michel Drucker, France 2 will call on Frédéric Lopez. Withdrawn in the Cévennes, the former animator of “Rendez-vous in unknown land” will offer “A Sunday in the countryside”. Three celebrities will join the host in an isolated house to confide in for a weekend. First issue end of October.
The Olympics instead of “More beautiful life”
The last issue of the series “Plus belle la vie” will be broadcast on November 18, 2022. For lack of an audience, it will leave the antenna. France 3 will replace it with a magazine on the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Hosted by journalist Carole Gaessler, it aims to introduce people to the sporting, economic and environmental issues of the Olympic Games.
The return of “Masterchef”
“Masterchef” was the first major cooking show to air in prime time. It was on TF1 in the 2000s. France 2 bought the license and will entrust the presentation to Agathe Lecaron, the presenter of the program “Les maternal”.
“Numbers and letters” relegated to weekends
Already transferred from France 2 to France 3, the mythical game “Numbers and letters” will slow down. It will only air on weekends. Laurent Romejko’s band will disappear from the air during the week.
Instead, France 3 will offer a new game hosted by Cyril Féraud. In “Family Duels”, two families of four from the same region will have to compete. Cyril Féraud will offer another game, on France 2 this time, at the start of the evening: “100% logic, the answer is before your eyes”. This is a quiz to test viewers’ logic, common sense and observation skills.
Léa Salamé solo on Saturday evening
After the departure of Laurent Ruquier on Saturday evening, France 2 will maintain a talk show. Léa Salamé will be at the helm of “We can’t say anything anymore”. In an arena-shaped stage, she will address social issues, political or media news. To accompany it, France Télévisions promises “surprising, strong, funny and incisive personalities, with total freedom of tone”.
Léa Salamé will abandon the monthly political program of France 2: she will be replaced by Caroline Roux.
Two new appointments for Laurent Ruquier
If Laurent Ruquier gives up on Saturday evening, he does not leave France 2 for all that. He will present “Everything makes us sing” in which the news will be revisited in the form of humorous songs and “Today like yesterday” which will use archive images to better try to understand today’s events. Laurent Ruquier will keep the presentation of his show “Les enfants de la télé” on Sunday.
New show for Jarry
A defector from TF1, comedian Jarry has already hosted “Le big show” in the spring. At the start of the school year, he will host a second program, broadcast on Sundays at 5 p.m.: “Rendez-vous chez Jarry”. The channel announces “entertainment full of surprises and experiences”. Jarry should try her hand at cooking, DIY or beauty products.
