Les Déferlantes in Céret: Routes, timetables, cost… How to access the 12,000 parking spaces of the festival?

This is the main question on this first day of Les Déferlantes in their new setting: how to avoid traffic jams and the hassle of parking?

From Aubiry to Valmy, the Déferlantes change popular dimension. And therefore the reception plan, traffic, parking… At the very least, nearly 20,000 people are expected in Aubiry for Les Déferlantes from Thursday to Sunday, even up to 30,000 on the last evening.

Here is everything you need to know for the easiest access to the parking areas where no less than 12,000 spaces have been planned, spread over four locations between Le Boulou, Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts and Céret. Of course, all these car parks are free for the duration of the festival.

Where are the four car parks?

P1 – Former Céret station – 1,500 spaces

A 15-minute walk from the Château d’Aubiry, the first car park, at the level of the old Céret station, will accommodate up to 1,500 cars from 11 h 30. But beware, it will be impossible to reach it from Perpignan since you will have to go through Maureillas. A perfect route for festival-goers from Vallespir, Argelès-sur-Mer or from Spain.

P2 – Chemin de la Pave, Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts – 6,000 spaces

Much closer, the second car park will be located a few hundred meters from the festival, on one of the fields surrounding the castle. With a capacity of 6,000 vehicles, this parking space will also be open from 11 h 30. It will be essentially accessible for festival-goers arriving from Perpignan in particular.

P3 – Zone Colomine – Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts – 2.000 places

The third car park will be located near the aquatic base of Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts, at a place called La Colomine.
2,000 places will be available from 4.30 p.m.with the possibility of taking a shuttle to Aubiry from 5 p.m.

P4 – Boulou distriport – 2,500 places

Dès 16 h 30, the fourth car park will accommodate up to 2,500 cars near the Le Boulou motorway exit. There too, shuttles will provide rotations to bring festival-goers to the entrance to Aubiry.

A shuttle every twenty minutes

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., a bus that can accommodate up to 60 passengers will provide the connection between the third and fourth car parks and the Château d’Aubiry site, with a scheduled shuttle departure every 20 minutes. For the return trip, it will be offered from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., again with a departure every 20 minutes.

Closed roads

To be able to ensure these trips as well as possible, the D115 road will be closed to traffic between Céret and Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts from 5 p.m. until 3:30 a.m.

Festival-goers will still be able to take the section that connects Le Boulou to Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts from this same D115 in order to access the second car park, or to leave it. From 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., it will only be possible to drive towards Céret from Le Boulou. After this time, the axis will be open only in the direction allowing to join Le Boulou from Céret.

The traffic plan.
